Hello!

My name is Brede (pronounced Bray-de), a Sport and Exercise Psychologist in Training (SEPiT), working through the BASES SEPAR pathway. I am looking forward to helping athletes, coaches and others involved in the sport and exercise setting, to achieve their goals, improve performance, and enjoy whatever it is they are doing!

So why this blog?

Although there are certainly blogs around, detailing experiences of being a trainee psychologist, I wanted to document my own personal experiences, from school, through university, and into further training as well! I felt that the full journey was currently missing from a trainee’s perspective. This is something that I certainly have searched for over the years, as the unknown future of a profession that has a large focus on independent work and study, can be a scary place!

This blog aims to provide experiences (both good and bad!) and hopefully advice, to any other aspiring practitioners out there, whilst simultaneously discussing current issues and topics in sport and exercise psychology. You can read more about my educational experiences below.

Whilst this gives you an insight into who I am, I want to dedicate the first blog post to more about my interests, particularly surrounding sport psychology. This post also discusses why I have chosen to pursue a career in this field, and what my current journey has been towards this so far. Read more here:
